Chestnut Hill Historic District looking for volunteers

Chestnut Hill Historic District Commission has a number of vacancies and is looking for Newton residents who would be committed to managing change in this historically important district to help preserve its unique characteristics and qualities. The Commission meets monthly to review applications from owners and residents in the district. Ideally, the applicants would be lawyers or architects, but committed Newton residents are also welcome to apply.

Anyone interested in volunteering can apply online at  http://www.newtonma.gov/gov/featured/boards.asp. The City website has information about the Chestnut Hill Historic District http://www.newtonma.gov/gov/planning/histpres/districts/chesthill.asp

Barbara Kurze, Newton’s Senior Preservation Planner, can answer any questions and can be contacted at bkurze@newtonma.gov or 617-796-1129. People are always welcome to sit in on the Commission meetings.
