Via Brookline Selectman, Dick Benta, the CHA has learned the following:
The Cabinet that holds the traffic light routing equipment at Hammond Street at the intersection with Boylston Street was hit by a car a couple of weeks ago and the interconnect was damaged in the accident. This traffic control box is in Brookline, not Newton. The folks in Brookline have said that the responsible company, Republic, is working on getting a new cabinet for the location. They will be back in touch with us as to a time frame on getting the coordination back to normal.
